Are Filipinos tolerant?

Respect in other people's beliefs is still one of the things that Pinoys seem to be having problems with. Many people in the Philippines are still not tolerant toward the issue of legal separation. Discrimation can still be felt by those who give advice for women on how they should be free from the shadows of their husbands. Despite the laws againts discrimination and intolerance, why there are still existing issues and conflict involving different social issues?
